Moose
Meet the largest member of the deer family
Moose are Canadian icons, easily recognizable thanks to their long legs and faces, and in the case of males, their enormous antlers. Their antlers can spread six feet from end to end and are used to fight off other males when competing for a female. While their size is intimidating, this animal is a herbivore – though it can easily put away 70 pounds of food a day.

- Type: Mammal
- Habitat: Boreal forests and wetlands of the northern hemisphere
- Diet: Herbivore – grasses, shrubs, and lichens
